Industrial heritage meets modern workspace design
Turning a warehouse into an inviting workspace
Located within a historic 1906 warehouse in Seattle, Railspur Studios is a characterful adaptive-reuse project designed by SKB Architects. The workspace celebrates the building’s industrial heritage while introducing warm, contemporary elements that create a more refined and welcoming environment. The interior is defined by carefully considered contrasts. Raw, rugged architectural features reference the building’s history, while polished modern interventions bring a new level of comfort and sophistication to the space.
A warm foundation for the workspace
Mainstreet ZZZ1002 from the Venture Plank collection was selected for the flooring and custom finished in a warm blonde tone specifically for the workspace. The continuous timber flooring also helps connect the different areas of the workspace. Floor-to-ceiling glass partition walls define private offices and meeting rooms without compromising the sense of openness, allowing views across the interior and maintaining a strong visual connection between spaces.
Designed for contemporary commercial interiors
Part of the Venture Plank collection, Mainstreet combines the natural character of European oak with the performance of engineered hardwood flooring.
Available in a wide range of colors with a smooth finish, the Venture Plank collection provides designers with extensive choice for commercial and residential interiors. At Railspur Studios, the custom warm blonde finish demonstrates how the collection can be tailored to complement a specific architectural vision.
