What is TreeAzzo made from?

TreeAzzo is made from high-quality resin combined with wood chip wastage from the woodworking industry. The wood chips can include a variety of species, including walnut, oak, ash and pine, creating the distinctive natural variation visible within each surface. As standard, TreeAzzo comes with sustainable FSC® Certified (FSC-C009500) plywood backing. 

What can TreeAzzo be used for?

TreeAzzo is a versatile surface suitable for a wide range of interior applications. With an 18mm ply backing, it can be used for furniture making, cabinetry, worktops and counter splashbacks, and can be drilled and cut like any other wood board based products.TreeAzzo is also available with fibre cement backing, ideal for use as tiles on floors or walls.

Is TreeAzzo sustainable?

TreeAzzo is an FSC® Certified (FSC-C009500) environmentally friendly, resin-bound wood chip surface. It has been designed to use wood chips that would otherwise be considered waste from the woodworking industry, giving this material a new purpose within a highly versatile surface. The wood chips are bound in high-quality resin and supported by an FSC®-certified plywood backing, helping to make more considered use of timber resources. 

What size and thickness are TreeAzzo panels?

Our standard TreeAzzo panels measure 1250mm in width by 2500mm in length, with an 18mm plywood backing and an overall thickness of 23mm. These standard panels can be drilled and cut like any other wood board based product. As each TreeAzzo panel is handmade, bespoke sizes and specifications are also available, including a 5mm drop edge, bullnose edge and fibre cement backing for applications where TreeAzzo is being used as tiles on floors and walls.

How is TreeAzzo different from traditional terrazzo?

Traditional terrazzo is typically made by combining chips of materials such as marble, granite, quartz or glass within a cement or resin binder. TreeAzzo takes inspiration from the distinctive appearance of terrazzo but uses wood chips instead, creating a surface that celebrates the natural colour, grain and variation of timber. The wood chips, which are wastage from the woodworking industry, are bound in high-quality resin with an 18mm plywood backing, creating an extremely versatile surface. The result combines the graphic, patterned character associated with terrazzo with the warmth and individuality of real wood.

Do you provide TreeAzzo as tabletops or splashbacks?

Popular within hospitality settings including cafes, hotels, retail spaces and restaurants, our pre-cut TreeAzzo tabletops are available in a range of shapes and sizes. This includes Round (Small 900mm diameter, Large 1200mm diameter), Square (Small 900mm length, Large 1200mm length) and Rectangle (Small 800 x 1200mm, Large 800 x 1800mm). TreeAzzo is also available as countertops and splashbacks in Small (650 x 3000mm) and Large (900 x 3000mm)

What finishes are available for TreeAzzo?

TreeAzzo has a lacquered finish as standard for lasting durability – an oiled finish is provided on the brushed Nougat option. It is also available in a brushed or completely smooth sanded finish.

How is TreeAzzo made?

Every TreeAzzo panel is handmade, so the distribution and colour of the wood chips naturally varies from panel to panel. Alongside our standard range of TreeAzzo colours, the high-quality resin can be customised to any suitable RAL colour, your can use our TreeAzzo visualiser tool to explore options.
